The NBA is back in action today as the Brooklyn Nets will clash with the Detroit Pistons in the Motor City.
Brooklyn was in action at home Friday night as they beat the Rockets with a score of 116-123. Detroit lost in the Windy City against the Bulls with a score of 112-106.
Brooklyn Nets Form
The Nets showed some good performance as they beat the Rockets in a convincing way. It seems that they are playing well this year but they suffered an unlucky defeat against Memphis with a score of 134-133.
Kyrie Irving leads the team with 35.3 points, six rebounds and 6.3 assists per game on the season. Also, Caris LeVert is plying well as he has an average of 18.5 points per contest. Additionally, Spencer Dinwiddie is also a significant contributor 17.5 points and 5.5 assists a game.
On the offensive side of the game, the Nets score an average of 120 per game which is the 3rd scoring record in the league. Also, they have an average of 50.3 boards a night combined with 22.3 assists per game.
As for their defensive score this season, the Nets concede an average of 122 points per game. Therefore, this record is enough for the 27th spot in the league in scoring defence.
Detroit Pistons Form
The Pistons suffered a defeat against the Bulls in their last game. Also, their home record so far stands at 1-2 at home this season coming into this contest. This is a good team and there is more to come from them this season. Andre Drummond their main men so far as he is leading the team in the early going with 21 points, 17.4 rebounds, 1.4 steals and two blocks per game. Derrick Rose is also a significant contributor with 20.4 points plus 6.2 assists a night while Luke Kennard chips in 15.2 points per game. Markieff Morris adds 11.2 points plus 4.2 rebounds a night.
On the offensive side of the game, the Pistons score an average of 107.8 points per game on the season which is the 19th spot in the league in scoring. Also, they have 41.8 boards per game combined with 23.4 assists per night.
Both sides are having a tight schedule in the last couple of weeks. The Pistons will be without Griffin and Jackson in this game. But the Nets lack proper defensive stability at the moment. Therefore, I believe that the Pistons will be the better team in this game. Also, they are playing at home and that will give them an additional motive to do well.
