Today’s NBA Game Prediction: Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Washington Wizards – April 5, 2018

We are a few days from the end of the regular season, heading to the playoffs, this last week will be intense. Cleveland Cavaliers hosts the Washington Wizards at home, the home team has a virtually safe place in the playoffs, but the Wizards are one foot out and one inside the playoffs, they still have to win two or more games to reach the playoffs

Cleveland Cavaliers: Solid and ready for the playoffs.

The Cavs are already in the playoffs, there is nothing that can get them out of the list of eight teams, of course unless they lose the last four games and fall between the seventh and eighth place in the eastern conference, but to be reasonable that isn’t going to happen. The Cleveland Cavaliers season has not been what many expected, but after all they are there, fighting for a place in the playoffs and surely they will fight for the conference title this year.

48 wins and 30 losses in the regular season, the best performance of the team has been at home with 28 wins and 11 losses, 71.8% win at home. At home they have beaten Heat, Raptors, Celtics and Hawks among other low level teams, but the team have lost against Warriors, Spurs, Rockets and apparently winning at home to the strongest teams in the league has been almost impossible.

At home 111.6 points is the average per game, 48% field goal, 77.2% first throw and 36.5% three pointers, those are not bad numbers but the offensive rebounds are below the visiting teams, 8.18 vs. 9.05. The assists average are also another problem of the Cavs, they are always 2 or 3 assists below the other team.

Washington Wizards: Peeling for the playoffs.

Winning this game for the Wizards is priority, they need to win at least 3 of the next 4 games. The Bucks are ranked 8th in the Eastern Conference, with the same record of Wizards 42 wins and 36 losses, if they lose more than 2 games they would be almost out of the playoffs since the Miami Heat has 43 wins in the 6th place.

On the road for the Wizards has not been anything beneficial, 20 wins and 19 losses, a pathetic amount of lost games and just 51.3% of win away from home. Losing on the road for the Wizards is normal, Lakers, Raptors, Hornets, Nets and Clippers are some of the teams that have massacred the Wizards (just to name a few).

104.8 points on average on the road, with a bad 45.6% of field goal and only 9.72 three pointers per game, it seems that the team has had problems with the average points per quarters, below 25 points on average.

This game for me is not that hard to predict, the Wizards have won in Quicken Loans arena (110-103), but that win was for having almost a week off (after the all-star game), things are no longer the same, Cleveland Cavaliers is in a more comfortable position. They have a winning streak of 7 games at home, winning this game will be easy for the Cavs.
