The NBA is back in action today as the Houston Rockets will clash with the Los Angeles Clippers.
And on the other side, the Rockets are heading into this game after a 105-95 defeat on the road by the Nuggets in their last game Wednesday night. And on the other side, L.A managed to pull a 107-104 overtime win over the Celtics Wednesday night in their previous contest.
Houston Rockets Form
The Rockets enjoyed a strong run of 8 wins in a row. However, that winning streak ended as Denver beat them on Wednesday night. However, this James Harden led team is still on the top spot in the Southwest Division with 1.5 games advantage over Denver. Therefore, it is safe to say that the Rockets are once again a strong team. Also, James Harden is in top form as he led the team with 27 points in the last game against the Nuggets.
On the offensive side of the game, the Rockets score an average of 117.9 points per game on the season. And this is enough for the 3rd scoring record in the league. Also, Houston has 7.1 boards a night combined with 20.9 dimes per contest. The Rockets are the 21st team in scoring defence as they give up an average of 113.1 points per game on the year.
Los Angeles Clippers Form
The Clippers managed to pull a great win against a strong Celtics team. Moreover, they now have 3 wins in a row. And this form launched them on the 2nd spot in the Pacific Division with just 2.5 games behind their local rivals the Lakers. Also, Lou Williams led the team in the win over Celtics with 27 points. Therefore, the Clippers are a good team. And with the comeback of Leonard, they can be serious contenders this season.
On the offensive side of the game, the Clippers score an average of 112.4 points per game. And this is enough for the 11th spot in the league in scoring. Also, they have an average of 45.8 boards per game combined with 22.7 assists per night.
On the defensive side of the game, the Clippers concede an average of 106.4 points per game which is the 8th best defensive record in the league.
This one will be a hard one to predict. The Rockets were in commanding form as they won 8 games in a row. The defeat against Denver stopped them from getting the 9th win. Now they face the strong Clippers team and they have a 9-1 record at home. Therefore, I believe that the Clippers will win this game.
