The NBA is back in action today as the Phoenix Suns will clash with the Brooklyn Nets in the Big Apple.
The Suns are heading into this game after a loss by the Bucks a 129-108. And on the other side, Brooklyn was beaten 113-107 on the road against Washington in their last contest Saturday night.
Phoenix Suns Form
The Suns suffered an expected defeat in their last game against the mighty Bucks. However, they have been playing well this season and that can be seen through their standings. Now, the Suns are 3rd in the Pacific Division, with 17 games behind the Lakers for the top spot. As for the Western Conference playoff picture, Phoenix is placed on the 11th spot with, 3.5 games behind the Grizzlies for the final playoff spot. Yet, their away record so far this season stands at 11-11.
On the offensive of the game, the Suns score an average of 113 points per game which is the 11th scoring record in the league. Also, the Suns have 43.6 boards per game combined with 27.1 per contest. And on the defensive side of the game, Phoenix is 20th in the league with 113.5 conceded points a night.
Brooklyn Nets Form
The Nets are one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference this season. Moreover, they have won 3 of their last 4 games before losing to the Wizards in their last game. Therefore, the Nets are fourth in the Atlantic Division, 13.5 games behind the Raptors for the top spot. As for the Eastern Conference standings, the Nets are seventh and held a 3.5-game edge over ninth-place Chicago. So, the team is still in the playoff race.
On the offensive side of the game, the Nets score an average of 110.1 points per game on the year. Also, Brooklyn has 47.8 boards combined with 23.8 assists per game. Additionally, the Nets are 19th in scoring defence as they allow 112.1 points per game this year.
Both sides are having some struggles heading into this game. On one side, the Suns are playing the second game of a back to back situation here and they are minus several rotation pieces for this one. On the other side, the Nets suffered a hard to take defeat in the game against the Wizards. But playing at home works in the Nets’ favour here. Therefore, I expect Brooklyn to have the upper hand in this contest as they get back to winning ways.
