The NBA is back in action today as the Toronto Raptors will clash with Detroit Pistons in the Motor City.
The Raptors are heading into this game after a 115-109 win over Cleveland. And on the other side, Detroit was dropped 125-115 on the road by the Nets in their last contest Wednesday night.
Toronto Raptors Form
The Champions are playing well this season. Moreover, they are one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference.
And now, the Raptors have a 1.5-game lead over the Celtics for the top spot in the Atlantic Division. And for the Eastern Conference playoff race, Toronto is second with eight games behind the Bucks for the top seed. Additionally, the Raptors also have a solid 16-7 record on the road this season.
On the offensive side of the game, the Raptors score an average of 112.4 points per game. And that is the 12th scoring record this season. Also, Toronto has an average of 45.9 rebounds combined with 25.7 assists per night.
And for their defensive record, the Raptors concede an average of 106.2 which is the 5th best in the NBA this season.
Detroit Pistons Form
The Pistons are not playing well lately. Moreover, their recent form includes 4 defeats in their last 4 games. Also, they were unable to take down the Nets on the road and the team is reeling at the moment. Therefore, the Pistons are 4th in the Central Division with 25 games behind the Bucks for the top spot. As for the Eastern Conference playoff picture, the team is tied for 10th with 4.5 games behind the Nets for the final playoff berth.
On the offensive side of the game, the Pistons score an average of 109.3 points per game which is enough for the 20th spot in the league in scoring. Also, Detroit has an average of 42.3 boards per game combined with 24.1 assists per night. As for the defensive side of the game, they are 17th with 111.5 conceded points per game.
The Pistons have suffered four straight losses coming into this one. And it seems that the team is struggling without Griffin and Kennard in the mix as that’s two starters that are out of the lineup. On the other side, the Raptors play well and I expect a win for the Champions in this game.
