The NBA is back in action today as the Utah Jazz are heading to the Lone Star State in order to face the San Antonio Spurs. The Jazz is heading into this game after a 126-117 defeat at home by Houston in their last contest Monday night. And on the other side, San Antonio suffered an unlucky 110-109 defeat on the road in Chicago in their previous game Monday night.
Utah Jazz Form
The Jazz is heading into this game after a defeat at home in their last game. However, they have been playing well lately as they have 19 wins from their last 22 hames. Therefore, the Salt Lake City-based team is placed on the top spot in the Northwest Division with the Nuggets. As for the Western Conference playoff picture, Utah stands on the 3rd spot, with four games behind the Lakers for the top spot.
On the offensive side of the game, the Jazz score an average of 111.2 points per game this season. Also, Utah has 45.8 boards combined with 22.3 assists a night.
On the defensive side of the game, the Jazz concedes an average of 106.2 points per contest. And that is the 6th best defensive record.
San Antonio Spurs Form
The Spurs are not playing well lately. Moreover, they have now lost their last three NBA games. However, they showed some character and good performances as they fell short of a point in the latest loss against the Bulls in the Windy City. Now, the are 4th in the Southwest Division, nine games behind the Mavericks and Rockets for the top spot. As for the Western Conference playoff picture, the team was on the 9th spot with two games behind the Grizzlies for the final playoff spot.
On the offensive side of the game, the Spurs score an average of 113.3 points per game. Also, they have an average of 46.1 boards per game combined with 24.6 dimes per night.
As for the defensive side of the game, the Spurs concede an average of 114.3 points per game.
The Jazz underestimated the Rockets in their last game as they missed James Harden in the team. However, they are a strong team and they played well lately. On the other side, the Spurs have shown some good performances but they are still far from reaching a solid form. Therefore, I expect a win for Utah in this one.
