The NBA is back in action today as the Orlando Magic will clash with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Orlando suffered a 130-107 home loss to Houston in their last game on Friday night. And on the other side, New Orleans suffered a 116-109 road loss to Philadelphia in their last contest Friday night.
Orlando Magic Form
The Magic suffered a hard defeat in the game against the Rockets. However, this is a good team and that can be seen through their results so far this season. Moreover, they are on the 2nd spot in the Southeast Divison.
Also, Orlando holds the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference by a half-game over Charlotte. Also, they have the in-form Evan Fournier as he led Orlando with 27 points in the loss.
On the offensive side of the game, the Magic score an average of 102.5 points per game so far this season. And that record is enough for the 29th spot in the league in scoring. Also, they have an average of 45 boards combined with 22.4 assists per night.
On the defensive side of the game, the Magic concede an average of 103.8 points per game. Therefore, that record is the 2nd best in the league.
New Orleans Pelicans Form
The Pelicans are not playing well. Not at all. To be more specific, they have just suffered their 11th defeat in a row. And now, the Pelicans entered Saturday in the basement of the Southeast Division, 12 games behind the Mavericks. As for the Western Conference standings, the Pelicans are placed on the 14th spot in the division. However, the positive is that Brandon Ingram played well in the last defeat as he scored 32 points in the game.
On the offensive side of the game, the Pelicans score an average of 112.9 points per game which is enough for the 9th spot in the league in scoring. Also, they have an average of 44.2 boards per game combined with 24.7 assists per night.
On the defensive side of the game, the Pelicans concede an average of 119.7 points per game which is the 29th record in the league in scoring defence.
The Magic are playing well so far this season. Regardless of the defeat in the game against the Rockets, they still have a good record in the recent games. And they are facing a Pelicans team that is playing badly and with no sign that the things will turn to better. Therefore, I expect another win for Orlando in this game.
